Re: my rosy...
Thu, January 20, 2005 - 1:27 AMIt happens.
My corn ate a medium sized rat and didn't drop for 6 weeks til next feeding. Really depends on time of the year, and right now, most snakes would rather be hibernating. Their systems slow down even more, and they don't do anything. In about 3 mnths they'll perk up, eat like mad and dump constantly.
How often are you holding the snake? Playing with'em will get all the mucles moving, wake the system up, and get everything moving.

Re: my rosy...
Thu, January 20, 2005 - 2:22 AMi take her out and hold her (except for feeding day) almost every day.. and yeah,, get the muscles moving, etc...
shes not lethargic and she shed the other day so i dont see any immediate signs of emergency.. i mean... i keep the temperature as correct as i can and she seems healthy and happy... its just that shes new to me and i have not read anything about this in the research i have done before i got her.... so yeah,, naturally i would have concerns.. anyway, thanks for your info, im sure she will be fine.... she has been pooping for years, why stop now, right? -

Re: my rosy...
Fri, January 21, 2005 - 2:55 PMDonno. My boa loves a soak, problem is he's so big, the bucket doesn't fit, so he soaks a bit at a time. :)
Hell, all my snakes love to soak.

Re: my rosy...
Fri, January 21, 2005 - 9:11 PMrosy boas are usually found in very dry climates... i got info saying to put a water bowl in for a couple days every couple weeks... some people tell me to keep a very small one in there... some people other things... i just keep a small one in there all the time and change it frequently.. she seems very healthy... but she doesnt soak... yet? -

Re: my rosy...
Fri, January 21, 2005 - 9:28 PMusually before a shedding snakes like to get into the water bowl.
Don't buy into that whole dry climate thing. I have a Bearded Dragon that loves nothing more than going swimming mid summer. He get's all grouchy, then I put a big bowl for him, he splashes around, soaks real good, and get's happy.
