Re: I JUST GOT A 8 FOOT REDTAIL BOA MALE AND HE WONT EAT
Fri, March 2, 2007 - 2:51 PMHe's probably just grumpy from the move, let him get used to his new surroundings. 3-4 weeks won't hurt, but just pay attention to his mood when handling him until he eats

Re: I JUST GOT A 8 FOOT REDTAIL BOA MALE AND HE WONT EAT
Thu, May 31, 2007 - 10:29 AMI know I'm replying to this post a bit late, but I just joined this tribe. My issue with this post is that 1. an 8 foot rtb does not need to be fed two rats a week, that's overfeeding it. A snake that size can easily be fed once a month with no issues, he's probably not hungry and that sort of overfeeding can result in obesity, bad health and consequently a shortened lifespan.
2. Instead of feeding 2 rats why not feed an appropriately sized rabbit, one nice meal a month and call that george -

Re: I JUST GOT A 8 FOOT REDTAIL BOA MALE AND HE WONT EAT
Fri, October 26, 2007 - 9:04 AMMy adults eat every week. like clockwork. I dont agree with feeding a snake once a month. Besides mine are breeders and they need the nutrition and the wieght especially the females. I woul say he is just very stressed and to give him a week or too to adjust to his new surroundings. The feeding schedule is a matter of preference.
